All about the EYE

Readers like you want to know who is behind “Eye on Harvard”.  Well, it’s just me – your friendly neighborhood Selectman, Tim Clark.   Together with some of Harvard’s best and brightest, I’ll be filling you on what you need to know, and when you need to know it.  Think of it as your own private news feed for all the news that falls between the stories and letters you see in the local papers.

Seriously folks, I’ve been involved in town government since the turn of the century (Really! I first got involved back in the year 2000)  My wife and I moved to Harvard back in 1998 and honestly, we had no idea what we were in for.  For two years we quietly commuted into Boston together, totally unaware of what happened here in the daylight.  Then we decided to have kids and my world changed.  My wife still commutes to Boston almost every day and I have had the extraordinary privilege to raise my two wonderful children (and dogs) as a Domestic Resource Management Specialist (Dr. Ms.)  I find that title a little more comprehensive than the Mr. Mom title, since nobody, I mean nobody can ever replace your Mom.

So everybody asks me “Why do you do all this stuff for the town, and how the heck do you have the time to do it?”  My answer is simple – Because I care about this town and I’m not alone in thinking that way.  Many new folks to town have no idea that the only way this town runs is on the energy and output of its volunteers.  Harvard’s citizens are its greatest assets – Just look at what they have achieved since 1732 and you will see how a small town like Harvard can create great schools, nurture a unique community character and protect hundreds of acres of open space and natural resources from future development.
